One-Ham Manlet is a solo performer original adaptation of William Shakespeare's Hamlet that takes the titular Danish prince's "antic disposition" and pushes it to "11". Actually, it's more like 20, since that's approximately how many characters actor/adapter Ryan Kathman portrays in this modern, often comedic but no less authentic interpretation of the legendary tragedy. One actor, twenty characters ... to be or not to be? Is there "method to this madness", or will the result be "something rotten"?

So far audiences have given the production a resounding, "Huzzah!" Blending levity and brevity (though the entire story is told, the show clocks in at just under 90 minutes), Manlet highlights some of the zanier aspects of this play without sacrificing the universal themes of revenge, betrayal, love and family. The show incorporates highly theatrical elements like stage combat (no small feat with only one actor), puppetry (not Yorick - he's dead) and a whole host of dialects (this Hamlet is a multi-cultural affair). Iconic scenes (the "closet" scene, Ophelia's "mad" scene) and speeches ("O what a rogue and peasant slave", "Is that a dagger I see before -" ... oops, wrong show) are interspersed with countless surprises (namely, which prop will he pull out of his many pockets next?). Be assured: you've never seen Shakespeare quite like this (or quite so ... sweaty).
